Independent research is only worth trusting when you can see exactly how it’s made. This page shows every part of the process: how clinics earn a place in our network, where the price figures originate, who checks the clinical content, and how we’re funded. Transparency is not a marketing gesture here — it is the product.

Every section on this page is designed to stand alone. If you only read one part, it will still give you the full picture for that aspect of how we work.

Quick reference: how we work

  • Clinics are verified against a documented checklist — accreditation, named dentists, recognised implant brands, warranty — before appearing in any quote.
  • Price data comes from real quote requests across SmileJet’s network, not from “from” prices clinics advertise.
  • Clinical content is prepared with reference to published AHPRA/ADA guidance and current clinical literature; a named AHPRA-registered dental practitioner is being engaged for formal review, with credentials to be disclosed on every reviewed page once confirmed.
  • We are funded through SmileJet — disclosed openly on every commercial page.
  • We publish safety warnings, failure scenarios and “when not to go overseas” guidance alongside savings data.
  • Every page carries a “last updated” date; cost data is refreshed from live quote data.

How clinics get into our network

Every clinic that appears behind a quote on Australian Dental Solutions comes from SmileJet’s verified network. Verification is not a checkbox — it means a clinic is assessed against the criteria we publish openly in our clinic vetting checklist: recognised accreditation, named and credentialled treating dentists, documented implant brands from the established manufacturers’ list, and a written warranty before any money changes hands.

The standard we tell you to apply is the same standard the network applies before a clinic can generate a quote.

We do not list clinics we cannot stand behind. A bigger directory is not the goal. An accountable one is. If a clinic cannot meet the checklist, it does not appear — regardless of how established or popular it is with other platforms.

Bottom line for Australians: Every clinic you can receive a quote from through this site has passed the same vetting criteria we publish and recommend you use yourself.

How our price data is sourced

Every competitor in this space publishes guessed ranges. Our pricing methodology is different, and the difference matters when you are deciding whether a 50–65% saving over Australian fees is real or misleading.

  • Anchored in real quote data. Figures are drawn from actual quotes processed across the verified network — what patients are charged in practice, including the abutment, temporary crown, CBCT imaging and follow-up appointments that headline “from” prices routinely omit.
  • Indicative ranges are labelled plainly. Where a page currently shows an indicative range rather than a live median, we say so. We are progressively replacing indicative ranges with live medians from the quote-data feed as fresh data accumulates.
  • True cost, not treatment cost. Our costs pages load both sides of the ledger — flights from Australian cities, accommodation, time off work, travel insurance and a revision contingency — so the comparison to staying in Australia is honest.
  • Get your own number. An average is for orientation. A real quote, specific to your procedure and clinical situation, is for deciding. Every relevant page points you to one.

Bottom line for Australians: The price ranges on this site reflect what verified clinics actually charge Australians, not what clinics wish they could advertise.

How content is made and reviewed

Australian Dental Solutions produces editorial content in five stages, in this order.

  1. Drafted carefully in Australian English, based on the real questions Australians type into search engines and ask through dental tourism consultations.
  2. Prepared with reference to AHPRA and ADA guidance and current clinical literature. A named AHPRA-registered dental practitioner is being engaged for formal medical review of anything clinical. Until that review is confirmed, clinical specifics on this site are general educational information, not individual clinical advice — review status and credentials will appear directly on the page once in place, not in a general disclaimer buried in the footer.
  3. Sourced from primary references. We cite the Australian Dental Journal, the Australian Dental Association, government health bodies and peer-reviewed research. We do not cite manufacturer marketing material as clinical evidence.
  4. Dated and refreshed. Every page carries a “last updated” date. Cost data is updated from live quote data; clinical guidance is re-reviewed when the evidence changes.
  5. No outcome guarantees, ever. This site exists to help you ask better questions of your treating clinician — it does not constitute medical advice, financial advice, or any guarantee of treatment outcome.

Bottom line for Australians: Until a named AHPRA-registered reviewer’s sign-off appears on a page, treat clinical claims on this site as general orientation, not clinical guidance.

How we’re funded — disclosed

Australian Dental Solutions is funded through its relationship with SmileJet, the verified-clinic network that facilitates quote requests between Australian patients and overseas dental providers. When a reader requests a quote and proceeds to treatment through that network, a referral fee sustains this site.

We disclose this relationship openly rather than performing false neutrality, because honest affiliation combined with real quote data is more useful to you than fake independence built on guessed figures.

Crucially, the funding relationship does not bend the editorial line. We publish safety risks, failure scenarios and cases where you should not go overseas at all — because a research site that only ever says “go” is an advertisement, not research. Many Australians have excellent outcomes from overseas dental treatment. Some do not. We cover both, because that is what a patient-side research resource is for.

Bottom line for Australians: We earn from SmileJet referrals — disclosed here and on every commercial page. That commercial relationship does not alter our safety and risk guidance.

What makes us different from other dental tourism sites

Most sites in this category are undisclosed lead-generation directories dressed up as editorial. Australian Dental Solutions is built differently across five dimensions:

  1. Disclosed affiliation. Our commercial relationship with SmileJet is named on every page where it applies — not buried in a terms-of-service footer.
  2. Working toward named AHPRA review. Clinical pages are prepared with reference to AHPRA/ADA guidance and current clinical literature while we engage a named AHPRA-registered practitioner for formal sign-off, with credentials to be shown on the page — not a generic “medically reviewed” badge with no name attached.
  3. Real quote-based pricing. Price data derives from actual quotes to Australians, not from clinic marketing materials or manually assembled “from” prices.
  4. Patient-side safety guidance. We publish the failure rate data, the risk disclosures, and the scenarios where staying in Australia is the right call — including sourcing that guidance from the peer-reviewed Australian Dental Journal study that found 47% of patients had complications requiring follow-up treatment.
  5. Full-cost comparisons. Our costs pages include flights, accommodation and a revision buffer alongside treatment costs, so the comparison to an Australian fee is fair. See also our destinations section for location-specific cost breakdowns.
